The smaller block is placed into the larger tube so that the holes line up.

Then a solid metal rod is inserted through all so that the ends of the rod extend as in photo. This holds the smaller block in place.

A spectator firmly holds the end of the rod. 1-2-3! and the block PENETRATES & FALLS FREE OF THE ROD, right out of the tube!
